Congratulations Angela Love! You won a copy of Drake!

Not all men are created equal and not all know the perfect words to say. Fictional characters in books are no different. I know we read about these perfect men that save the day....blah, blah, but I enjoy UN-perfect heroes.

Drake is an UN-perfect hero. As the bastard son of the Texas senator, Drake has many obstacles to overcome. He lacks direction, lost him mother to Cancer and his half brothers despise him. He is charming and witty, yet is a little cocky. Only his perfect complement can bring him down a notch and give him the drive and courage to overcome it all.

The quirk I enjoy most about Drake is how his goofy pick up lines are corny, but warms the heart of the heroine, Alex Mullins.

Here is an excerpt of one of Drake's strike outs:

“Hey, city boy. My eyes are up here.” Alex effectively pulled him out of his thoughts and inappropriate gazing.

Drake poked his hands in his pockets and averted his eyes. “Sorry, I was captivated by your beauty.”

Alex appraised him with a look of disgust. “I hope you don’t think that shit works on me, city boy.”

Beyond his character flaws, Drake has a good heart and yearns for a family and to be accepted by his brothers. Alex brings out the best in Drake, challenging him to pick up the pieces and carry on.

“Yeah, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. To be honest, I haven’t been much of a person the last year or so. I quit college when I was close to finishing and now I want to complete it. Hell, complete anything.” Drake admitted, needing someone to talk to. He shook his head in disgust with himself. “I want to make my grandmother proud and as funny as it sounds, Alex inspires me to want to be a better person.”

One winner will receive a copy of Drake in any format except print. **This contest is open to international participants.**
